Shipyard De Schroef on the inland waterway to Sluiskil offers a wide range of facilities for the construction, finishing and repair of ships. With three docks, a side-slipway of 125m, tower cranes, a finishing quay of 450m and spacious covered workshops, the shipyard conducts a wide range of activities for all types of ships.
The largest dock at shipyard De Schroef is Dock A, which is 135 m long with an inside clearance of 20.5 m. With a lift capacity of 5000 tons this dock is utlized for the repair and maintenance of coasters and the largest category of inland ships. All work can be done directly from the dock floor, which means that time us utililized more efficiently, and the job is finished in a timely fashion.
Dock B, the middle dock in terms of size, measures 96 meters in lenght with an inner clearance of 16.5 m. This dock has a lift capacity of 2500 tons. Dock B is utilized for the repair and maintenance of inland vessels, smaller coasters and the larger fishing boats.
The smallest dock at shipyard De Schroef is Dock C, with a length of 45 meters and an inner clearance of 10 m. The lift capacity of this dock, which is suitable for tugboats, pushboats and fishing cutters, is 600 tons.
In addition to the three docks the Shipyard offers a 125 meter long slipway, with a 'parking area' width of 30 m. Depending on their width, three vessels can be dry-docked next to each other on the slope.
Finishing repair quay:
The finishing repair quay of the shipyard in Sluiskil is 450 meters . The quay is used for finishing hulls and repairs above water. For the slipway and the finishing dock, De Schroef is equipped with a mobile tower crane with a span of 60 meter. A permanent tower crane with a span of 50 meter serves the dry docks, and a mobile crane is moored on the sidewalls of docks A and B. There is always a small tugboat on the quay that assists in putting vessels in or out of the slipway or the Docks.
